Assistant Director, Employment & Financial Service

Miriam Ocampo-Arreola is an Assistant Director overseeing the largest division at Kern County Human Services-  Employment and Financial Services (E&FS), which includes public assistance programs: General Assistance, Cal Fresh, CalWORKs, and Welfare to Work.  She began working for Kern County Human Services in 1994. She has worked as a Social Service Services Worker, Social Services Supervisor, Human Services Program Specialist in the Child Protective Services Bureau. In her time in Child Protective Services she worked in the following areas: Emergency Response, Court Services, Family Services, Permanency Services and also managed the Extended Foster Care and Independent Living Skills Program at the Dream Center. She also worked as a Human Services Program Director in Human Resources where she served as the Civil Rights Coordinator and lead for Safety and Security. 

Mrs. Ocampo-Arreola earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Applied Ethics from California State University, Bakersfield and a Masters in Social Work, also from California State University, Bakersfield.
